Last night we had dinner at the local Salvadoran place we frequent when we're too lazy to either cook or drive. The food is good -- a little heavy, maybe, and not terribly authentic, but who cares? It's cheap, it's tasty, they recognize us, and we don't have to do dishes afterwards. I had a plata verde, two enchiladas and a guacomole-stuffed taco, and Red had the vegetarian Huanaco platter: beans, rice, fried plantains, baked yucca root, and a really delicious sweet tamale. The restaurant was practically deserted, perhaps because of the impending thunderstorm that never quite arrived, and the waitress gave us a free order of flan. It's nice to be regulars.
